LeghornGroup, in collaboration with the PNTLab of CNIT, is proud to present LOGICA (LOGistic Innovative ChAin), a cutting-edge project dedicated to revolutionizing monitoring and security in global containerized shipping.
Co-funded by the PR ERDF Tuscany Region 2021–2027, LOGICA was developed to address the increasing demands for visibility and protection in the modern supply chain. The project integrates geolocation, direct cellular and satellite communication technologies, and advanced electronic seals to provide total, real-time control, ensuring seamless interoperability among all supply chain stakeholders.
Innovation Serving the Supply Chain
At the core of the LOGICA system is the integration of next-generation hardware and software components:
- Intelligent Monitoring: An advanced device integrating NB-IoT and satellite communication technologies, as well as RFID readers. Battery-powered and installed directly on the container, it ensures constant and precise tracking.
- Centralized Data Management: A secure, scalable cloud architecture that collects and analyzes data in real time, making it accessible to logistics operators, shipping lines, and regulatory authorities.
- Full Interoperability: Through dedicated interfaces, the system is designed to communicate with the latest digital certification technologies, including distributed ledger systems (DLT) and future Digital Product Passports (DPP).
Market Ready: From Theory to Operational Validation
LOGICA is more than just a concept; it is a concrete solution already in an advanced validation phase (TRL 7). The system is currently being tested on real transoceanic routes, monitoring actual shipments to validate device effectiveness and the reliability of information flows under critical operating conditions.
With this project, LeghornGroup reaffirms its global leadership in security systems, combining manufacturing expertise with world-class scientific research to define the new standards for Logistics 4.0.
